ELECTRICAL PANELS REPLACEMENT FOR TWO PROJECTS AT THE CC COURTHOUSE

Chickasaw County is seeking bids for an Electrical panels Replacement for two projects at the Chickasaw County Courthouse located at: 8 East Prospect Street, New Hampton, Iowa 50659
Project #1 -Basement location
- Pull new wire in existing pipe from the MDP in the basement to an UL listed gutter on the east wall at the bottom of the stairs in basement.
- Wire shall be 4 #2 THHN copper (3 for phases and 1 for neutral and 1 #4 copper for a ground)
- Use existing 100-amp 3 pole breaker in the MDP
- Ground wire to be terminated on new ground bar above main panel with a compression connector and bolted to ground bar
- Replace panel with NEW QO with 42 spaces and, use Square D breakers under the gutter listed above, remove old panel all together
- Hook up all current circuits to new panel
- Distance is approximately 40 ft.
Project #2 -2nd Floor machine room location
- Remove the existing panel in the machine room (north panel), locate new on North wall
- Pull wire in existing pipe from MDP in the basement to a NEW 125-amp 24 spaces Square D panel in the machine room on the second floor. (This goes up the elevator chase into the attic and across and back into machine room) This is to be a continuous run with no splices.
- Wire shall be 4 #1/0 THHN copper (3 for phases and 1 for neutral and 1 #4 copper for a ground)
- Use existing 100-amp 3 pole breaker in the MDP
- Distance is approximately 220 ft
- Ground wire to be terminated on new ground bar above main panel with a compression connector and bolted to ground bar.
- Refeed the south panel with a 60-amp circuit from the new panel and add a separate ground bar in panel, 4 -#6 wires and 1 #6 ground

Please NOTE these projects will need to be completed when the courthouse is closed (night or weekend)
All work must comply with National Electric Code
Include any State permit or inspection fees
NO TAX is to be charged
Bids are due by 4:00 PM February 6, 2026 to the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the Courthouse. Bids will be opened February 9, 2026 at the regular board meeting. Chickasaw County reserves the right to reject any and all bids at their discretion.
