Chickasaw County Conservation Director
DESCRIPTION: Full-time, Exempt position under direction of the Chickasaw Conservation Board. Performs such duties as defined by Section 350 of the Code of Iowa. Performs a wide variety of professional and administrative duties related to the management of parks, recreation and wildlife areas. Coordinates, plans and administers conservation and recreation programs in Chickasaw County at the discretion of the County Conservation Board. This involves strategic planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and community engagement. This position is responsible for planning and directing a wide-ranging program that includes park management, outdoor recreation, environmental education, and natural resources management. Some maintenance work including, but not limited to: mowing, maintenance and upkeep of county facilities and grounds. QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with major course work in natural sciences, outdoor recreation or a job-related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in natural resource management and program administration. SALARY: $70,000 - $78,000. County benefits include health insurance, vacation, sick time, and IPERS.
