The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher/Jailer to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for providing critical emergency communications services and maintaining the safe, secure, and humane supervision of inmates within the county jail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency resources.
- Monitor radio communications, officer activity, security cameras, and detention areas.
- Enter, maintain, and update records in law enforcement databases and records management systems.
- Provide information and assistance to the public.
- Process inmates into and out of custody and maintain accurate inmate records.
- Conduct inmate welfare checks, serve meals, and assist with court appearances.
- Maintain jail security, cleanliness, and compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel, emergency responders, and other public safety agencies.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, multitasking, and decision-making skills, maintain professionalism under pressure, and demonstrate a commitment to public safety and inmate welfare. Training will be provided.
