General Assistance
Our mission is to provide assistance to documented poor and needy citizens of Chickasaw County. Assistance may include one-time assistance with rent, utilities, and medications when the person cannot provide these items for themselves. The county may provide a “county funeral” for indigent persons. Eligibility for General Assistance will be determined by the General Assistance Director or Assistant Director after the person fills out an application and provides substantiating proof of need.
